Donald Trump’s bid to block an offshore windfarm near his north-east golf resort has been dealt a major blow.
The Court of Session has today thrown out the US tycoon’s appeal against the £230million European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre.
In February last year, the courts rejected his bid for a judicial review of the Scottish Government’s decision to allow the 11 turbine development.
Mr Trump – who believes the scheme will spoil the views from the Trump International Golf Links Scotland course – subsequently lodged an appeal of that ruling, but that has now been dismissed.
The businessman is due in the north-east next week for the official opening of the club house at his Menie Estate course.
A separate legal dispute remains ongoing over the electricity sub-station needed for the windfarm.
