Shamed Rolf Harris made a number of appearances in Aberdeen at the height of his career.

The 84-year-old appeared in a number of pantomimes and also exhibited his artwork in the city.

In 2003 he helped launch the then recently revamped Artists Gallery in Holburn Street with an exhibition of his work.

A year later his new collection, titled Rolf, was put on show at the same venue.

And the Australian star also visited youngsters at Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital (RACH) in 1984.

He had been in the Granite City to take part in the International Festival of Youth Orchestras.

The entertainer had enjoyed a fame revival among younger audiences throughout the world after scoring an unexpected hit with his rendition of Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven.

This was further boosted through the TV show Animal Hospital Live.

He starred in the pantomime Aladdin at His Majesty’s Theatre in Aberdeen in 1991.

Four years later the celebrity helped students celebrate Aberdeen University’s quincentenary at the Music Hall, by giving a special performance with his band.

He had first visited the venue 13 years before this when he was included in the line-up for the International Youth Festival.
