Youngsters at the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital were treated to a special delivery this weekend as the Easter bunny dropped off hundreds of seasonal goodies.

Children and teenagers supported by cancer charity CLIC Sargent were on the receiving end of more than 500 chocolate eggs and soft toys collected by north-east recruitment firm Genesis Personnel.

Last night, the massive donation was welcomed by the charity’s fundraising manager for the north-east and Shetland, Holly Taylor, who said the toys and sweets would make a major difference to the children’s Easter.

“I am thrilled with the support from Genesis Personnel and would like to say a huge thank you to them and everyone who donated eggs and toys,” she added.

“Easter is an exciting time for children and I think that some of the kids in the hospital can feel a little left out of all the fun, so receiving all of the treats from Genesis at the hospital will have really made their Easter.”

The recruitment firm, which has offices in Aberdeen and Peterhead, appealed to staff, suppliers and clients to donate items and was amazed by the response.

Moira Murawiecka, sales and recruitment manager, said: “We are delighted that we managed to collect so many treats for the children and young adults at the hospital.

“Our staff, clients, candidates, and suppliers were very generous and it was great to see the children’s faces light up when we delivered the Easter goodies.

“As a business, we always like to support local charities and small initiatives like these are very gratifying as we can see how excited and happy the patients are when they receive their parcel.”
