Four people appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday in connection with an alleged disturbance in Alness on Wednesday night.
The incident is said to have occurred at around 8.30pm and police issued a statement yesterday to re-assure the public that it was “an isolated incident.”
All four pleaded not guilty and were released on bail.
Denver Stewart, 24, and Mary Stewart, 24, both of Fraser Road, Invergordon and sisters Michelle, 19, and Catherine Stewart, 21, of Windsor Place, Conon Bridge faced a total of six charges.
All of them denied that on June 21, they vandalised a Ford pick-up truck in Salveson Crescent by repeatedly striking it with weapons.
On the same date and at the same place, they all denied behaving in a threatening manner by blocking a driveway in Salveson Crescent with a vehicle, causing a collision with it whilst brandishing weapons.
Michelle Stewart pleaded not guilty to assaulting Isabella Stewart with a weapon at the same location.
Her sister denied another three charges, one of giving police false details and attempting to pervert the course of justice and assaulting two police officers.
The quartet will return to court on October 5 with trial fixed for November 22 at Tain Sheriff Court.
Investigating officer Constable Ian Sutherland said: “I would like to thank the local community for their assistance whilst this matter was dealt with. I would like to reassure residents that this was an isolated incident and there was no threat to the wider community.
