Two men who attacked their oldest brother at their parents’ home in Inverness will be sentenced next month.

Damian Wilson, 25, and 20-year-old Richard head-butted, punched and kicked 26-year-old brother Michael on the head and body to his severe injury on July 2 last year.

Inverness Sheriff Court was told that Michael was left with broken cheekbones and a fractured jaw by the attack, which left him unconscious after Damian, of Woodlands Court, had grabbed him in a choke hold.

Michael had to be brought round by paramedics who were called to the scene at Birchwood Brae by the Wilson parents. Both men will be sentenced on November 24.

Fiscal depute David Morton said the brothers had been drinking when Michael went out to the hallway, followed by Richard, of Woodlands Terrace, and Damian.

“They began hitting their brother, he was head-butted and then kicked on the head and body.

“Their parents witnessed it taking place. Michael managed to stumble out of the property into the garden and picked up a piece of fencing to hold Richard back.

“But Damian had come into the garden as well and held Michael round the neck in a choke hold. His breathing was restricted and he felt that he might die.”
