A 25-year-old Inverness waiter who refused to leave a club in the city then struggled with police.
Glen Donoghue, of Anderson Street, was injured as the disturbance involving three officers spilled out on to Academy Street on December 13 last year.
He banged his head on the pavement and, after he was treated in Raigmore Hospital, he continued to behave in a disorderly manner in a police vehicle taking him back to the cells.
Fiscal depute Martina Eastwood said that constables had to place him in leg restraints as he lashed out following his arrest outside Private Eyes.
Defence solicitor John MacColl said: “He remembers nothing about what happened. He had a fair bit to drink but he says he normally remembers events.
“He does not take drugs but he can’t exclude that his drink may have been spiked. He accepts his behaviour was entirely unacceptable.”
Donoghue was fined £540 by Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald after admitting a breach of the peace and resisting arrest.
