Police were called to a property on Lerwick Road, Sheddocksley, yesterday at around 1.35pm. The street was sealed off and residents were unable to get into their homes. Armed police and special negotiators were later brought in. The incident was brought to a close at 7.15pm and a 29-year-old man was arrested. A police spokeswoman said he has now been charged in relation to alleged threatening and abusive behaviour and is expected to appear in court today.
