A thug who battered a man before marching him to a cash machine and robbing him has been jailed.
Yob Aiden Bartlett was sentenced yesterday at Aberdeen Sheriff Court over the violent incident, which happened on September 1 2017.
The drunk 22-year-old committed the crime alongside Dominic Watt, known as Hawcutt, 19, who was ordered to carry out unpaid work.
Both previously pled guilty to assaulting the man, repeatedly punching him on the head, and demanding money from him, forcing him to go to a cash machine and a shop to get money and then robbing him of the cash.
The offence came about after the victim had met a female friend of the offenders.
She took him back to a house where the pair were present. Hawcutt recognised the man and took exception to his reputation with women, the court was told.
After punching him several times to the head, the thugs demanded money and marched him to a shop and cash machine to withdraw it.
The duo then robbed him of around £160.
Defence agent Michael Horsman, representing Bartlett, said his client “can have no sensible explanation as to why he became involved”.
He added: “He was significantly affected by alcohol at the time. There was no significant physical injury to the complainer, thankfully.”

Liam McAllister, representing Hawcutt, said his client knew the victim and was aware of his “ill treatment of a female” previously.
He added: “He accepts that he struck him.”
Sheriff William Summers told the pair: “This is, as you will both understand, a serious offence.”
He jailed Bartlett, a prisoner at HMP Grampian, for 14 months and ordered Hawcutt, whose address was given as Urquhart Road, Aberdeen, to carry out 240 hours of unpaid work within 12 months.
Hawcutt was also ordered to be supervised for 18 months.
