Members of the public will have another chance to view plans for a new world-class golf course in the Highlands later this month.

US golf entrepreneurs Mike Keiser and Todd Warnock hope to transform land at Coul near Embo into an 805-acre, 18-hole complex.

A first round of public consultations took place last month and some concerns were raised by environmental groups about the threat to a rare species of fly, while others continue to relish the prospect of new jobs and an influx of tourists.

But a second round of consulations will soon be held in Dornoch and Embo before any planning application is submitted by Bandon Dunes Golf Resort.

The first of those will take place from 4pm-8pm at Dornoch social club on August 30, with the second also running from 4pm-8pm at Embo Community Centre on August 31.

The events will take the form of an informal exhibition, and will include a brief introduction to the developers and their team at 6.30pm at each event.

If a planning application is subsequently submitted to Highland Council, normal neighbour notification and publicity will go ahead and people with have the chance to formally submit comments on the proposals.
