Danish billionaire Anders Povlsen who owns almost a dozen estates in Scotland will take the Scottish Government to the Court of Session on Wednesday over a proposed wind farm which he considers a blot on the landscape.
He is seeking a judicial review over approval for the 22-turbine Creag Riabhach development at Altnaharra in Sutherland, close to one of his estates.
The Scottish Government has already approved the scheme, arguing it had “strong support from the local community council.”
It was endorsed by business, innovation and energy minister Paul Wheelhouse despite being partly proposed for designated “wild land.”
Sources close to Mr Povlsen said he feared that a tourism boost from the North Coast 500 initiative would be damaged by the prospect of 410ft high turbines.
