Mountain Bike World Cup returning to the Highlands

250 of the world’s best cyclists are due to return to the Highlands for the annual Fort William leg of the Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, organisers have announced.

The event will welcome more than 22,000 spectators to Fort William to witness top riders battle it out for the title in the spiritual home of downhill mountain bike racing on Saturday 1 and Sunday June 2 2019.

As the only UK leg of the Mountain Bike World Cup, the event is set to take place on the Nevis Range. From today fans can secure a limited number of Early Bird tickets.

2018’s challenge was attended by more than 22,000 fans over the three days event and saw Britain’s Tahnee Seagrave soar to victory on home turf and flying Frenchman, Amaury Pierron blitz the men’s event to take home world cup titles.

Mike Jardine from organisers Rare Management, said: “The World’s best riders and teams will join spectators from all over the world in the Scottish Highlands, where they can experience the legendary Fort William atmosphere.”
