A pensioner who admitted his second drink driving offence was banned from driving for three years at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday.
Police had been called to Celt Street where 77-year-old Ian Hutchinson had been involved in a collision.
The court was told onlookers called the police on August 3 because Hutchison of Huntly Street, Inverness, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
A breath test revealed he was almost four times the legal drink drive limit.
Solicitor Rory Gowans said his client had a previous conviction for drink driving in 2010 and should have known better.
Sheriff Neilson also fined Hutchinson £400.
