A shop owner who shouted, swore and made Sectarian comments outside his ex-partner’s mother’s house was fined £500 today.
William Dunlop, 37, of 4 Lochnell Road, Dunbeg, appeared at Oban Sheriff Court.
He pleaded guilty to, at 6 Meadow Road, Dunbeg, on October 26 last year, behaving in a threatening manner, repeatedly knocking on a window, shouting, swearing, issuing threats of violence and gesticulating and uttering Secterian comments.
Fiscal Eoin McGinty said three children had been in the house at the time.
Solicitor Jane Thomson said businessman Dunlop, a partner of Dunbeg Stores, did not realise that children would be in the house. He had been drinking at the time, she said. “He is very embarrassed,” she added.
Sheriff Ruth Anderson QC said: “This was a particularly unpleasant episode causing upset to children, because of your drunken behaviour.”
