Steven Kitching, of June Road, had admitted at Inverness Sheriff Court, being concerned in the supply of cocaine in the city on August 7. Sheriff David Sutherland was told that the 38-year-old, who had previous drugs convictions, had been stopped and searched by police after a tip-off. A plastic bag containing 8.7 grams of the Class A narcotic worth about £850 was found in his underpants. Kitching also admitted assaulting a man by spitting on him at Dow’s Diner in Inverness on July 18 last year. A failure to appear for court charge was also admitted. Defence lawyer Jim Clarke said: “He now has a crime free lifestyle for the first time in years. “He came to this area where he has friends to consume drugs because he was hiding his addiction from his family.”
