A north football star failed to appear before a sheriff when his assault case was called yesterday.
Ross County player Iain Vigurs, 31, who lives in Dingwall, was due at Inverness Sheriff Court before Sheriff David Sutherland.
But there was no lawyer representing him, nor did the player turn up.
However, fiscal depute Roderick Urquhart said he was unsure if Vigurs had been served with the paperwork containing the allegations against him.
He then asked the sheriff for a continuation without plea to make further inquiries. The next called was fixed for August 15.
Vigurs faces three charges, all alleged to have been committed on February 3 this year at Johnny Foxes nightclub in Inverness.
He is accused of assaulting door steward Dave Young by punching him on the head and resisting and obstructing PCs James Iredale and Karen Macdonald by tensing his arms and struggling with them.
He is further charged with assaulting PC Macdonald by attempting to butt her on the head.
