Lachlan Simpson, was reported missing yesterday (Monday July 27) after he failed to make contact with family and friends after the dance. Lachlan was last seen at the dance around 10:30pm. Police say he may have left the area around 2am on Sunday morning and headed north in the direction of his home town Embo. Coastguard teams in Dornoch were mustered in the early hours of this morning (July 28) to help police with their search. A UK Coastguard spokesperson said: “We are assisting police with their efforts and are concerned for his safety.” The spokesman also confirmed that the Dornoch Inshore lifeboat and a police helicopter from Inverness are engaged in the search. Lachlan is described as 6ft, of slim to medium build with short blonde hair. He may have been wearing a white and green zip up top on Saturday. Anyone who spotted Lachlan leaving the dance or who has information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Police on 101.
