A man has been jailed for nine months after admitting behaving in a threatening and abusive manner at a Lerwick chemist and having a “length of sharpened metal” in his possession.
Kasim Javed, 31, whose address was given as HMP Grampian, admitted the offence, which took place on June 22 at Laing’s Pharmacy in Kantersted Road.
Javed admitted acting in a threatening and abusive manner to two men in the chemist and behaving aggressively towards one of them, who he also threatened with violence.
Appearing from custody, he also admitted displaying a length of sharpened metal which he had partially concealed in his clothes.
Sheriff Ian Cruickshank backdated the sentence to June 24 when he was taken into custody.
