A woman has been found guilty of murdering her husband on the Isle of Skye.
Sandra Bruce, 61, had denied killing Norman Bruce, however, a jury at the High Court in Glasgow has today found the woman guilty of murdering her husband in February last year.
Judge Lord Armstrong described the murder as a “vicious attack” on a man who was unable to defend himself and sentenced Bruce to a minimum of 15 years in prison.
Lord Armstrong said: “There are no reasons which could possibly justify the taking of another’s life.”
The court heard that Mrs Bruce had stamped and jumped on Mr Bruce.
Mr Bruce, a former paramedic, had initially lived with his family in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire but later left to eventually set-up home with Sandra Bruce on Skye.
Mrs Bruce, now of Kilbarchan, Renfrewshire, originally denied the murder charge and lodged a special defence of self defence, however the jury today found her guilty of murder.
