An arts group in Moray has received a funding boost to continue to help aspiring young musicians develop their skills.
Findhorn Bay Arts has been awarded £20,000 by Creative Scotland’s youth music initiative to create opportunities for those aged 16-21.
The aim of the Remix programme is to encourage those who would not normally have the chance to sing or play by working with groups including Elgin Youth Cafe, the Keith Loft Youth Project, Aberlour Youth Point, Moray Council and Quarriers.
It follows the art group’s In the Mix project, which supported more than 275 youngsters over the two years it received funding for from Cashback for Communities.
Youngsters will work in small groups or on a one-to-one basis either online or face-to-face with digital music company Electrolabs.
Free online films with local musicians will begin on Monday on Findhorn Bay Arts’ social media pages with free workshops commencing on August 31 for six weeks.
