The funeral of a teenager who died in a swimming accident last week will take place on Wednesday at St Leonards Parish Church in Forres.
The body of Matthew Crosbie, 19, was found by police a week ago after he encountered difficulties swimming across the River Findhorn in Moray.
In the days before he posted a message on social media saying how much he was looking forward to a trip to Randolph’s Leap – a popular summer meeting place for youngsters.
Police were called to the area on 4pm on Saturday, March 7, after reports that Mr Crosbie got into difficult when attempting to swim across the river.
A major search then got underway for the teen, involving coastguard teams, a search and rescue helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth and a specialist police and fire crews.
His body was recovered the following day at Findhorn Bay.
He was described by his family as a “devoted son” to mother Lynn Ruickbie and a much loved brother to sister Macy.
