The storm that brought near-record snowfall to the eastern US will bring heavy rain and high winds to parts of Scotland, forecasters have warned.
The Met Office has issued a yellow “be aware” warning for 04:00 to 16:00 on Tuesday.
It has forecast southerly gales and also upland areas receiving as much as 2in (60mm) of rain.
The weather picture for later in the week could see high winds and cooler temperatures bringing snow.
The Met Office has issued a warning for heavy rain on Tuesday for the west of the UK, with 100mm (four inches) of rain forecast for parts of Wales.
The storm brought near-record snowfall from Washington to New York in the eastern US over the weekend, with at least 29 deaths reported since Friday.
From 20-40mm of rain, and up to 60mm in the most exposed areas, is expected in Scotland, while downpours of 30-60mm are forecast for north-west England.
The Environment Agency said it was monitoring river levels. There are currently three flood warnings, meaning flooding is expected, and 14 flood alerts, meaning flooding is possible, in England and Wales.
“We will monitor rainfall closely and urge communities to be vigilant,” a spokesman said.
“With heavy rainfall predicted in those areas there is obviously a risk of flooding.”
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa) currently has 10 flood warnings and two flood alerts in place.
