Scotland manager Alex McLeish.

Scotland manager Alex McLeish is today set to announce his squad for the upcoming games against Israel and Portugal.

The Scots continue the UEFA Nations League campaign with a Group C-1 clash away to Israel in on Thursday October 11.

Scotland top their group after the 2-0 opening win over Albania at Hampden.

The performance against the Albanians will have instilled a lot of confidence within Alex’s squad.

Scotland showed a lot of potential and enthusiasm with some young players impressing.

When you have that high level of performance Scotland have to go to Israel with confidence. It won’t be easy in Israel and Alex, pictured, will know that. However, he will be looking for that same energetic, youthful performance that saw off Albania.

If he can get that same appetite then Scotland should get the win.

The UEFA Nations League offers another potential route to the European championships in 2020 so it is vital the Scots top their group.

It is only a three-team group against Israel and Albania so it is a great opportunity for the Scots.

They will be confident of maintaining that early momentum by securing a win in Israel before a friendly against Portugal.
