Celtic have reportedly offered former Roma and Juventus full back Marco Motta a contract until the end of the season.
The 29-year-old is available on a free after leaving Watford at the end of last season and Italian news outlet TMW report that Ronny Deila has now offered the defender a deal to bring him to the east end of Glasgow.
Motta spent just one season at Vicarage Road, making nine appearances as he helped the Hornets gain promotion to the English Premier League.
Internationally, Motta represented Italy from Under-16 through to Under-21 level, earning 36 under-21 caps before going on to represent Italy at the 2008 Olympics and making his full international debut against the Ivory Coast in 2010.
The Hoops have struggled defensively this season with a series injuries. When fit, Mikael Lustig has played at right back for Parkhead side but his deputies Efe Ambrose and Tyler Blackett have not convinced while summer signing Saidy Janko lacks the experience the Hoops require in Europe.
Spanish side Celta Vigo and a number of MLS outfits are also reportedly considering offering the defender a deal.
