Rangers have made a move to sign Accrington pair Josh Windass and Matt Crooks, according to Stanley’s majority shareholder.
Andy Holt revealed on Twitter that he was aware Rangers had opened talks with the players, who both turn 22 this month.
In a series of tweets, which were retweeted on Accrington’s official account, Holt said: “I have been informed today that rangers are talking to Josh and Crooksey about a move.
“This is unsolicited and is being done under FIFA international regs that I totally disagree with. You know as much as I do now. Come on Stanley.”

Both players’ deals expire in the summer and they are free to speak to other clubs about potential summer moves under freedom of contract, although they would be subject to compensation fees.
It was reported that the agent who represents both players was pictured at Ibrox last month for the Gers’ Championship clash against Dumbarton.
Versatile Crooks came through the youth academy at Huddersfield, playing as a defender, midfielder and striker for the club’s youth teams but making just one appearance for the Terriers first team before he was freed and joined Stanley on an 18 month deal in February.
The 21-year-old has spent most of this season in midfield for Stanley.
Windass was recently reported to be a target for Arsenal and has rejected a new contract offer from the Sky Bet League Two club.
The son of former Aberdeen and Hull striker Dean Windass has netted 11 goals this season.
Windass came through the youth ranks at Huddersfield with Crooks, who has scored seven goals this season.
