Ross County’s preparations for their game against Partick Thistle this evening have been disrupted by flooding at Victoria Park, with the Staggies squad forced to train indoors for the past two days.
Although the pitch has remained unscathed, the impact of torrential rain has been evident at the ground.
Adams said: “We’ve been flooded at the ground for the last couple of days. Everything has been flooded, the changing rooms, my office and the doctor’s room.
“The stadium was under a lot of water earlier in the week, although the pitch is absolutely fine.
“There has been a lot of rain, but this is probably the eighth time since I’ve been here that the club has been flooded.”
Adams remains hopeful of securing County’s first points of the season against the Jags this evening.
The Staggies performed well in two encounters at Firhill last season, drawing 3-3 in January before winning 3-2 in May to secure seventh place.
Following Sunday’s 2-1 opening day defeat at home to St Johnstone, Adams is keen to build on the encouraging signs he saw against Saints.
He said: “We played really well against St Johnstone. The shape of the team was good. Watching again on video, the players coped very well with them, but we have to take our chances when we are on top.
“We’re now focused on the Partick game. It is their first home game of the season and they will have a very vocal support behind them.
“It’s a venue where we’ve done very well in the past. We’ve won there a good number of times. We know they have threats in the team but we know they have weaknesses as well.
“They have made a few good signings, particularly with Ryan Stevenson coming in. He was a very good acquisition for them.”
