Phillip Schofield in glitter is so wrong, say Dancing On Ice viewers

Dancing On Ice viewers joked that host Phillip Schofield looked like Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, an 80s porn star or someone from Star Trek when he stepped onto the rink in a glittery jacket.

Schofield and his co-presenter Holly Willoughby both brought the sparkle in honour of the disco theme of Sunday night’s show.

But fans of the ITV show were not convinced by Schofield’s twinkly coat, which he wore over a high-necked jumper.

“Philip Schofield in glitter is so wrong,” one person posted on Twitter.

“Has @Schofe just stepped off set from an 80’s porn film?” quipped another.

One fan joked that it was “nice to see @Schofe wearing a @StarTrek top circa 1967”, while another suggested he looked like “Hugh Hefner at a 70s disco”.

Schofield’s surprising look also inspired a few memes and video clips on social media.

His co-host Willoughby fared better, with viewers raving over her stunning sequinned dress.

The dazzling frock featured blocks of sparkly sequins in different colours and a high split at the side.

“Holly’s dress gives me LIFE,” gushed one fan.

One tweeted: “How stunning does Holly look. Her outfits are always on point.”

Another praised: “Week 3 of #DancingOnIce and @hollywills is still killing it with the dress code.”

The ITV series has returned after a four-year hiatus, with Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, Jason Gardiner and Ashley Banjo on the judging panel.
