Love Island contestants Grace Wardle and Frankie Foster have been dumped from the villa.

The pair were told to pack their bags and leave during Monday night’s episode of the ITV2 show, after losing out in a vote for the public’s favourite girl and boy.

Grace said she felt “positive” despite being eliminated because she was “overwhelmed to even make it into the main villa from Casa Amor”, but Frankie confessed to feeling “gutted” to have been given his marching orders.

Frankie was in the bottom three boys along with Charlie Brake and Josh Denzel.

He had been in a relationship with Samira Mighty and said he would jump at the chance to go back in because there was “unfinished business” between them.

“Our relationship got cut short,” he said.

“We were probably moving at a slower pace to Josh and Kaz (Crossley) or Jack (Fincham) and Dani (Dyer), who are in a full relationship.

“But there was definitely potential there, and if we had given it another week it could have been heading that way.

“It unfortunately got cut off at a bit of a turning point. We’d had the dinner date and things were starting to move forward.

“At the start I had no expectations but Samira and I naturally gravitated towards one another and it just got stronger every day.”

Grace said she was not surprised to find herself in the bottom three girls alongside Megan Barton Hanson and Ellie Brown.

“I think people were more shocked that Frankie left and are more upset about that, for Samira’s sake,” she said.

“It is unfortunate that the first guy Samira gelled with in five weeks has gone.”

Grace had been getting closer to Jack Fowler and said she would always wonder if their friendship could have become something more serious.

“It is a bit disappointing because it’s always going to hang over me, what could have been. Could there have been a spark? Could something romantic have blossomed?” she said.

“I didn’t get to spend enough time with him to see if there would be a spark,” she added.

“He’s a really nice guy, he’s really funny and he is my type.”

While Grace and Frankie are heading home, two new boys are on their way to the villa.

Love Island continues on ITV2.
