Former Coronation Street star Kym Marsh has said it was “really difficult” being unable to see her grandson on his first birthday.
The soap star and former Hear’Say singer could not visit her daughter Emilie, and her son Teddy, due to the lockdown.
Marsh, 43, told Good Morning Britain she had been struggling with social distancing and was craving a hug from her children.
Speaking from her home in Cheshire, she said: “It was his first birthday on Sunday. He turned one on Sunday. That was really difficult because all we wanted to do…
“We did drop some presents round at a very safe distance but it’s not the same. It is really hard.
“Emilie only moved out in February so they were living with me prior to that. So not only did I not realise I wouldn’t be able to hug my grandchild, I can’t even hug my own daughter.
“It’s rubbish. I cant wait to squeeze him, little chubby chops.”
The actress, known for playing Michelle Connor in the ITV soap, added: “We FaceTime every day and I think that is the one saving grace that we all have at the moment – there’s so much contact like that.
“It doesn’t make up for the real thing but it’s good that we have that. But she did have a couple of days when…
“Because this is new for her. She has never lived outside my home before so it’s strange.”
