Local craft beer company BrewDog has unveiled plans to expand its operation on the site of an Aberdeenshire Council-run recycling centre.
Under the £5million proposals, the firm would buy the neighbouring land at Balmacassie industrial estate in Ellon.
The household waste and recycling centre, which was built in 2011 before Brewdog established itself in Ellon, would be relocated within the existing industrial estate.
The expansion plans are subject to planning permission which have currently been submitted by the local authority.

The council would hand over the land to the company in January next year.
Ellon councillor Isobel Davidson described the move as “a great positive to the community” and a “big boost to the area”.
Fellow ward councillor Rob Merson said: “We know BrewDog is an ambitious company and of course we want to match that ambition and help boost the local economy and raise the area’s profile”.
BrewDog was founded in Fraserburgh in 2007 and has grown rapidly.
