In 2013, mum of two Lynette Neale was at her lowest ebb. She felt frumpy, tired and moody because of her excess weight so decided to do something about it.

Lynette said: “After struggling to walk up the stairs to our flat, I saw a banner for Slimming World and knew I needed help so in I went. I had a really warm welcome from the consultant and other members so felt at ease straight away and I’ve never looked back.”

Lynette has slimmed down from a size 18/20 to a size 10/12 losing over three stone to reach her target weight.

“When I reached my target in April 2014 I couldn’t have
been happier, I still can’t believe I’ve been able to lose weight without ever being hungry,” Lynnette added.

“Before Slimming World we used to have quite a lot of takeaways and I relied on cheese and crisps as snacks throughout the day but Food Optimising really can satisfy any appetite and doesn’t feel like a diet at all. There’s so much choice like potatoes, pasta, lean meats, fruits and vegetables. The whole family can enjoy the meals I’m making too, we love spaghetti bolognaise or even a burger and Slimming World chips and we can still have the odd takeaway or make our own versions too.”

Lynette can really feel the difference her weightloss has made and with energy to burn she has taken up swimming, she said: “I would never have been seen in a swimming costume before. I feel like a new person, I’m much more confident and truly feel happy with myself, I can walk more and I’m not tired all the time either. I feel so good I even had a professional photo shoot done to celebrate my journey and I’m really proud of the photos.

“I would never have got to this stage without the help and support of the members in group and my consultant. I’ve made loads of friends and they are always there with tips, suggestions and ideas when you are facing a challenging time with your weightloss. Even since getting to target, I’ve had my ups and downs but there’s never any judgement or humiliation, it’s great to know I’m not alone in battling old eating habits. I encourage anyone who hasn’t tried Slimming World yet to give it a go, you won’t regret it.”
