Cha cha cha your way to a ‘Strictly’ fabulous weekend

Katie Derham and Anton Du Beke will compete in the final of Strictly Come Dancing this weekend

On Saturday, December 19, TV sets across the country will be tuned into BBC1 for the glittering finale of the 13th series of Strictly Come Dancing. It’s must-watch viewing for millions of people, but even television can’t capture all the glitz, glamour, fun and excitement of seeing the dancers go through their paces live before your eyes.

Which is one reason the show Strictly Come Dancing Live! is so popular. The smash-hit celebrity-packed dance show returns to the SSE Hydro Centre in Glasgow in February and this night of hot dance guarantees to chase away the winter blues.

Once more, the Press and Journal has pulled out all the stops to get fans there and has teamed up with Omega Holidays to offer a two-day coach trip to see the Glasgow show, departing on Saturday, February 6, 2016. On this break, we include all your travel, quality hotel accommodation, full Scottish breakfast and free time in Glasgow.

The live show has all the elements that help make it a crowd pleaser, such as judges being rude and celebrities being romantic, raunchy or just plain ridiculous, plus plenty of nifty footwork, glitter and glamour. Those taking part in the 2016 tour include judges Craig Revel Horwood, who also directs this tour, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli, while much-loved presenter and all round funny gal Mel Giedroyc hosts the tour.

They will be reunited with celebrities and professional dancers from this year’s show, including soap star Georgia May Foote, celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott, Frankie Bridge, from The Saturdays, and TV presenter Anita Rani. All have said they’re thrilled to be getting the chance to dance again in front of audiences across the country. Also taking part are Helen George, Jay McGuiness and EastEnder Jake Wood.

For those looking for a fantastic Christmas present for that special someone, this mini-break would make an ideal gift, but it’s also the sort of weekend away that’s ideal for dance fans and friends to come along to and create some magical memories.

The holiday is priced from £169.95 per person (single supplements are £30 per person) and the price includes return coach travel from a number of local departure points on the Saturday. Once onboard, we travel to the Glasgow area where there will be time to freshen up before we transfer to Queen’s Dock in Glasgow, location of the state-of-the-art Hydro arena. There, you will have some
free time before the show starts at 7.30pm. The coach will return you to the hotel afterwards for your overnight stay. So, with no driving involved, you can really let your hair down at the show.

After a full Scottish breakfast, there will be free time in Glasgow, where you can spend your time shopping in the city’s numerous stylish and upmarket shops or perhaps visit some of the city’s fantastic attractions, such as the Tall Ship floating museum at Pointhouse Place on the Clyde, the Science Centre on Pacific Quay, or the famous Willow Tea Rooms in Sauchiehall Street, before rejoining the coach in the mid-to-late afternoon for your journey home.
