An Aberdeen pharmacy has won a prestigious national award for its work managing medication for NHS patients.
Dickies Pharmacy, in Torry, has been chosen as the overall winner in the Management of Long Term Conditions category.
The prize was awarded by Scottish Pharmacist, a bi-monthly publication which covers the latest pharmacy news.
The awards are an opportunity for pharmacists and pharmaceutical companies to celebrate innovation in the sector.
According to Scottish Pharmacist, many of these outlets are now responsible for managing patients with long-term conditions.
Brian Arris, owner of Dickies Pharmacy, said: “It is important that our pharmacy manager, Ione Skinner, and her team got the recognition.
“She has given over ten years loyal service to managing patients’ medication in Torry.”
Mr Arris also mentioned that Torry is home to a large Polish population – and that pharmacy assistant, Martina Foundy, who speaks the language, “helps with communicating to them about how to take the medication properly”.
The annual awards ceremony took place on March 11 at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
