Pipeline engineering specialist STATS Group has strengthened its management team with the appointment of two directors who will oversee the company’s design engineering functions.

Bill Herron takes on the role of Group Technical Director and will be responsible for STATS’ product development, standardisation and project design requirements for UK, European, Middle East and Far East markets.

Assisting him will be Winnipeg-based Doug Krokosz, who, as Technical Director for the USA and Canada, will provide leadership and management across the North American design functions as STATS continues its development in the strategically important North American energy industries.

Aberdeenshire-based STATS Group designs, builds, tests and installs a range of patented technologies used in the maintenance, repair and shutdown of major piping infrastructures across the oil and gas producing world.

STATS Group Chief Executive Officer, Pete Duguid, said the new directors would play pivotal roles in the development and standardisation of the company’s specialist isolation and intervention tools as STATS consolidates business growth in the Middle East and Americas.

He said: “We have successfully created momentum in the Middle East and gained a strong foothold in Canada and the US, and having on-board proven engineering experts like Bill and Doug adds another layer of technical know-how which will further enhance our capability and greatly benefit clients.

“We have invested significant capital in establishing facilities and equipment in both regions and Bill and Doug will guide and support our engineering design teams in making the most of emerging opportunities.”
