The SNP have announced their candidate for the Western Isles Council by-election for the Benbecula and North Uist seat.
Roslyn Macpherson, who lives in Benbecula, works for Skills Development Scotland, but may be better known to some through her role as a counsellor for the National Childbirth Trust charity. Polling will take place on March 26.
She said: “The campaign will only last a month, but I look forward to using that time to listen to views and concerns and to demonstrate my desire to be part of representing the people of Benbecula and North Uist. I know I can hit the ground running, given the encouragement I’ve been given by the SNP council group.”
