Police are hunting two men after a man was knocked unconscious outside a north-east pub.
The 48-year-old victim was taken to hospital following the incident near the Harbour Lights bar in Peterhead.
He and a 32-year-old man were attacked by two other males in the town’s Longate.
Police said it was the latest in a string of violent assaults outside licensed premises.
Sergeant Scott Massie said: “There was a serious assault outside the Harbour Lights pub, night which resulted in a male being knocked unconscious and taken into hospital.
“I’m keen for any witnesses to that to come forward.
“In recent weeks there have been a number of acts of violence outside licensed premises in the Peterhead area.
“Police Scotland are keen to take robust action on those responsible and equally to prevent any repetition of such offences happening.”
The two men suspected of carrying out the Longate attack are both described as being in their early 20s, under 6ft and slimly built.
A police spokesman said: “One is described as having a tanned complexion, wearing dark clothing, and the other described as white, wearing light clothing and a skip hat.”
He added that the 48-year-old victim was taken to Peterhead Hospital with head injuries.
The assault is believed to have taken place between 8.45pm-9pm on Friday.
Police have urged anyone with information about the attack or the two suspects to contact them on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
