Funeral date set for tragic council boss killed in road horror

The funeral of a respected Aberdeenshire council boss who died after his car collided with a tractor earlier this month will be held on December 30.

Douglas Edwardson was put into an induced coma after the accident on the A944 Alford-Aberdeen road, near Dunecht, on December 16.

But the 58-year-old, who was head of housing for Aberdeenshire Council, died three weeks after the incident.

Mr Edwardson had moved from the Banff and Buchan area to Alford, where he was active in Howe Trinity Parish Church.

His funeral will be held at the church on December 30 at 1pm.

His family have asked for donations to the Social Bite charity in lieu of flowers.
