A police officer has gone on trial accused of raping a woman in Aberdeenshire.
Andrew Robertson appeared at the High Court in Aberdeen this morning charged with carrying out the attack at an address in Aboyne on January 14, 2012.
It is alleged he raped the woman as someone else was restraining her so she was unable to move.
The 49-year-old denied the charge against him and lodged a special defence claiming the sex between himself and the woman was consensual.
The trial, before Lord Turnbull, continues.
