Two people were trapped in their car last night following a crash in Stornoway.
The one-car crash happened on the A859 at Leurbost at about 6.50pm, closing the road in both directions.
Two fire crews were called to the scene, and used cutting gear to free the two occupants.
Both were taken to Western Isles Hospital, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A police spokeswoman said: “The casualties were taken from the car to be checked over at the hospital. No serious injuries were reported.”
The road remained closed late last night.
