Welsh rockers, the Manic Street Preachers, and a “Hielan coo” are the latest additions to be revealed for this year’s sold-out Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival.

The multi-award winning band will make its debut Bella appearance when it headlines the main stage on the Friday night of the festival which takes place on the Belladrum Estate near Beauly from August 6-8.

Sticking with its plan to offer an eclectic mix of stars and styles, other acts named to appear include punk rockers The Stranglers and post-punk alt rockers New Model Army; legendary Motown band, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas; Hayseed Dixie who play hillbilly covers of ACDC and hard rock songs; melodic indie folk band, Stornoway and Fife singer-songwriter King Creosote.

The fancy dress theme for this year will be super heroes but this year’s mascot will be a Highland cow, which reflects a new VIP enclosure called, The Hielan’ Coo Club, created within a leafy woodland waterside glade. This VIP area will include a cocktail bar and chill-out zone, covered seating, posh loos, massage beauty and make-up area, a yurt sauna and special food and drink.

Other additions to the line-up include the John Langan Band; RURA; Vigo Thieves; Vukovi; JP Cooper; Louis Berry; James Brown Is Annie; Hector Bizerk; Miss Irenie Rose; AKAska; The Dolly Parton Story; The Skull Kids; Sliga; Elephant Sessions, Have Mercy Las Vegas; The Shee; Rhythm Wave; Silver Coast; Iain McLaughlin & The Outsiders; Dorec-a-Belle; Caledonian Ceilidh Trail; Head North and Junebug, winner of Bella’s Got Talent 2014.

A limited number of £30 one-day tickets are available to the new main stage extra night on the evening of Thursday, August 6, and arrangements are being put in place to ensure the safe transfer of printed tickets at face value only to avoid fraud.

Festival promoter, Joe Gibbs, said: “We urge people not to deal with touts purporting to sell tickets over e-commerce sites. Too many have been caught out by handing over funds and then never receiving the tickets. If you don’t know the person selling you the ticket, the only safe way to acquire tickets will be via the methods we have suggested.”
