A major search is underway for a 67-year-old man reported missing from his home in a Moray town in the early hours of this morning.
Police search teams have been joined by coastguard teams from Inverness, Nairn, Burghead and Lossiemouth, as well as a coastguard helicopter, to help search the River Findhorn by Forres.
A police spokesman said the force is unable to name the missing person at this stage but stressed there is “concern for his wellbeing.”
The spokesman said that the man was last seen at his home address at about 4am this morning.
He added that a Police Scotland dive team will also be dispatched to the area this afternoon.
Search efforts have so far been focused on the Soldier’s Pool area of the River Findhorn, but other parts of the river will also be searched.
