Jame Redman determined to end Peterhead’s poor form

Peterhead midfielder Jamie Redman is determined his side will end its poor home form against Forfar today.

The Blue Toon have won three of their previous four matches on their travels, but are without a win at Balmoor since the start of October.

However Jim McInally’s men will head into this afternoon’s match against The Loons full of confidence after beating full time Morton 1-0 at Cappielow last weekend.

And midfielder Redman sees no reason why his side cannot record another win against second-placed Forfar, who are level on points with surprise League 1 leaders Stranraer.

He said: “The Morton match was our best performance for some time.

“We played very well right from the start of the game and we fully deserved the win.

“This would be a great time to hit a bit of form as we have a really tough run of games coming up.

“Forfar have plenty of experience in their team and have made a really good start to the season.

“We know we have another tough challenge ahead of us and we hope we can win at home for the first time in a while.

“Our away form has been pretty good recently, but there has been room for improvement at home so hopefully we can do it this weekend.”

The Blue Toon is sixth in the league – 10 points behind Stranraer and Forfar.

But Redman is confident his side can play their way into contention for a play-off place with a good run of form.

He added: “We just need to find some consistency.

“We haven’t been that far from the top of the league and we have a game in hand.

“We just need to string a run of results together if we are to get to where we want to be.

“We just have to take it one game a time but we got a good run of results around this time of year and that helped us push out in front at the top of the table.

“We want to do the same again this year but in this league we know they are all tough games.”
