All items are reduced in closing down sale.

Professional catering equipment supplier Nisbets is to close its Aberdeen store next week.

A closing down sale is now underway at the shop based in Shiprow with customers getting the chance to grab bargains with a 25% discount.

Nisbets first opened in the Granite City in August 2016.

At the time the company said it was aiming to tap into Aberdeen’s “mass appeal” and an eventual return to a better local economic climate.

It’s not known how many jobs have been lost.

Who are Nisbets?

Nisbets has supplied professional chefs throughout the UK for more than 30 years, since launching as a catalogue business in 1983.

Trade customers and members of the public are now able to choose from more than 20,000 products online, or shop more traditionally at its stores.

Products include glassware, cutlery, crockery, dishwashers and fridge freezers.

It supplies catering equipment and supplies, developing, retailing and distributing commercial kitchen equipment, catering supplies and other hospitality products to chefs, hotels, restaurants, bars, cafes, schools, colleges and serious food enthusiasts.

The company is owned by Andrew Nisbet whose family boasts 400-year-old Scottish connections.

Mr Nisbet and his family made it into the Sunday Times Rich List of the UK’s wealthiest people, with a fortune estimated at £525 million in May 2020.
