Torrential rain didn’t manage to dampen spirits at the Fettercairn Show.

Here’s a list of all the breed champions:

CATTLE

Aberdeen-Angus – Kevin Cargill, of Millhill Farm, Arbirlot, by Arbroath, with home-bred 17-month-old heifer Ellas Trendy. By Wedderley Kensington and out of Rosemount Extra Trendy, she was first in her class at Angus and third at the Black Beauty Bonanaza.

Reserve – Graham Willox, of Meikle Pitinnan, Oldmeldrum, with home-bred two-year-old bull Cardenwell Butch. This one is by Burnside Jamie Eric and out of Strathinver Belinda.
Charolais – Robbie Anderson, of Sootywells Farms, by Fourdon, with home-bred November-2014 born bull calf Arthurhouse Jagger, by Inverlochy Ferdie and out of Maerdy Baltique.

Reserve – Rhys Anderson, of Burnton Farms, Burnton, Laurencekirk, with home-bred 15-month-old bull Mearns Jumper, which is by Goldies Fiesta and out of Mearns Electra.

Cross – Blair Duffton and Rebecca Stuart, of 2 Bogie Street, Huntly, with 19-month-old Limousin cross heifer Lady Moo Moo. Bought at the Thainstone Spectacular in September last year for £3,800, this one is by Haltcliffe Donny and bred by Grant Morrison, Newtack, Keith. She was cross champion at Angus.

Reserve – Barry Paterson, of Cairndaie Croft, Sauchen, with Limousin cross yearling heifer Desert Fox on her first outing.

Highland – Keith Howman, of Borland Farm, Blacklunans, Blairgowrie, with home-bred two-year-old heifer Maireared Stuamaig 2nd of Borland, by Stepdancer 4th of Glengoran and out of home-bred cow Mhairi.

Reserve – Ranch Livestock, The Ranch, Letham, with two-year-old heifer Fraoch 19th of Ashmore. Bought in Oban in February.

Limousin – Andrew and James Gammie, of Drumforber, Laurencekirk, with home-bred yearling bull Westpit Jockey, by Plumtree Deus and out of Westpit Gabby.

Reserve – Alan and Duncan Fotheringham, of Auchenzeoch Farm House, Auchenblae, with 20-month-old bull Ironman Goldflash, bred by Messrs Suddes, Durham.

Simmental – Gerald and Morag Smith, of Drumsleed, Fourdon, with home-bred six-year-old cow Drumsleed Adalucia, by Blackford Vivaldi and out of Drumsleed Primrose. Shown successfully as a heifer, she was champion at Fife this year.

Reserve – Heather Duff, of Pitmudie, by Brechin, with October 2013 born bull Overhill House Eragon, by Overhill House All Star and out of Woodhall Ada. Bought in February at Stirling for 7,800gn.

HORSES

Clydesdale – Charlie Jamieson, of Lower Powburn, Laurencekirk, with Powburn Peggy, by Bratlach Refiner.

Reserve – Charlies Jamieson, with Mollinhill Head Gail, by Singlie Storm.

Highland – Susanne Shepherd, of East Brachmant, Durris, Banchory, with West Lodge Alexander, by McLeod of Inverdarroch.

Reserve – Kate Lawson & Willie Sinclair, of No. 1 Kinaldie Holdings, Arbroath, with Lochlands Musetta, by Rignell Sassenach.

Shetland – K & A Scott, of Braes of Kerryston Kellas, by Broughty Ferry, with Vihrsgardens Pricles, by Rosedome of Transy.

Reserve – Aimee Hugill, of Rumbleyond, Rickarton, Stonehaven, with Kellas Whisper, by Kellas Peerie Plover.

SHEEP

Charollais – Lewis and Alison Anderson, of East Cairton, Drumoak, Banchory, with a December-born tup lamb by the AI sire, Dalby Galactaco out of a ewe bought from Sheena Coghill at Lanark, in 2011. He was on his first outing from the Greenferns flock.

Reserve – Callum Naismith, of Balmaleedie House, Grangehall, Marykirk, with a bought in ewe bred by Aberdeenshire breeder, Freida Brownlie.

Blackface – Peter Myles, of Dalbog, Edzell, with a three-shear ram bought at Ballymena, Northern Ireland, as a lamb, for 500gns from Billy Grant. He was champion at Angus last year and is by a 6000gns Harkin sire.

Reserve – R Holman-Baird, of Rickarton Farms, Stonehaven, with a tup lamb by a Glen Cally sire bought at Stirling in 2013 which is an ET brother to a £3,400 tup. His dam is by a Netherwood-bred tup.

Suffolk – James Scott, of Strathview, of East Ingliston, Forfar, with last year’s champion here, which also stood champion at Angus in 2014 and last month. Redbrae Real Deal, which was bought at Stirling as a lamb, is by Ardlea Atomic and also stood male champion at Kirriemuir last year.

Reserve – Sarah Finnie, of Newseat, Balthangie, Cuminestown, Turriff, with a two-crop ewe bred by Graeme Christie and bought at the Thainstone Christmas Classic in 2013. Reserve female here last year, she is by Strathisla Seabird.

Beltex – Graeme and Fiona Burke, of Cairndrum Cottage, Edzell, Brechin, with a former champion winner here, an Airyolland Kingsize-sired four-crop ewe on her first outing of the season. She is out of a ewe by the Rustler.

Reserve – Allan Alston, of Drumchapel, Chapelton of Menmuir, Brechin, with a gimmer that was placed at Angus. She is by Woodies Tyson and out of a home-bred ewe.

Cross sheep – David Black, of Minard, Cortachy Road, Kirriemuir. Champion was a pen of three Scotch Mule gimmers bred at Middle Hull and bought at Forfar, last year. They were first at Alyth and Angus shows and will be sold at Forfar in September.

Reserve – From Mr Black was the reserve winners from Angus and Alyth Shows, a pen of three Texel cross gimmers also bought at Forfar last year. Bred at Pitnacree, they are out of Texel cross Cheviot ewes and will also be sold at Forfar in the back-end.

Texel – Alistair and Tom Greenhill, of Westhall, Kellas, Dundee, with the breed leader from Alyth Show, an Ettrick-bred ewe bought at the Select Seven sale. This three-crop ewe that also stood champion at Kirriemuir last year is by Ettrick Rainbow Warrior and was placed at the Highland last month.

Reserve and Agricar champion – Allan Alston, of Drumchapel, Chapelton of Menmuir, Brechin, with a gimmer by Deveronvale Ullyses and out of a Cambwell ewe by Cambwell Laird bought at the Select Seven Sale.

Jacob – Barbara Webster, of No 2 Cottage, Higham Farm, Newburgh, Fife, with the breed leader at Alyth, Carrochy Nairn, a home-bred two-shear ram by Carrochy Jags out of a home-bred ewe.

Reserve – Jennifer Milton, of Newton of Auchindachy, Keith, with Cairdswood Cassius, a tup lamb by Hyndshaw Ryan, out of a Hope ewe. February-born, he was on his first outing.

Any other breed – Champion and Reserve – David Miskelly, of Corrybrae, Kildrummy, Alford, with Zwartbles. Champion was a home-bred gimmer by a Speyside ram bought privately and out of a Bobet ewe bougth at Carlisle. She was placed here as a ewe lamb. Reserve was an end of January born tup lamb by the same sire and out of a home-bred ewe.
