Information technology firm Dynamic Edge, of Aberdeen, said it had become a £5 million turnover business after an acquisition in the south of England.

The purchase of Tekkers IT Solutions, based in Fareham, Hampshire, for an undisclosed sum also further increases the Huntly Street company’s footprint.

Dynamic Edge also has operations in Inverness, Dundee, Stirling and Guildford, Surrey.

Established in the Granite City in 2009, the group is expected to turn over £4m during the year to March 2020.

Its latest acquisition was funded by the Scottish Investment Bank – the investment arm of Scottish Enterprise – and peer-to-peer lending company Funding Circle.

All 16 staff at Tekkers are being retained, while husband and wife team Pete and Erica Matheson, who established the firm in 2011, will stay on in consultancy roles.

It takes Dynamic Edge’s headcount to 55 across six offices, with the new base well-placed to support company IT requirements in Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex.

The group has previously expanded through the acquisition of Inverness-based Alchemy Plus Business Solutions in 2015, and Surrey-based Waytime Technologies in 2017.

Dynamic Edge chief executive Rob Hamilton said: “We’re thrilled to have made our third acquisition with the addition of a highly-rated business.

“The culture within the business, its talented team, its client base and the location of its office meant Tekkers ticked all the right boxes for Dynamic Edge.

“Acquisitions form a key part of our growth strategy and we wouldn’t rule out further deals in the future.

“For the moment, however, our focus will be on integrating Tekkers into the wider group, and taking the business to the next level by offering a broader scope of services and capability to the market.”

Mr Matheson said Dynamic Edge had the depth of resources to take his former business to the next level.

“We have been particular about which company we sold the business to as we have strong relationships with our staff and clients,” he said, adding: “We’re delighted to have reached an agreement with a progressive and passionate company.”

Dynamic Edge now has 520 clients from the Isle of Wight to Shetland.
