Miller Cromdale has been granted planning approval for its Liberty House project in Aberdeen.
The Grade A office development – to be built next to Union Square shopping centre – comprises 25,500 square feet of net lettable space over four floors and 28 car parking spaces.
It is the latest phase in the redevelopment of Aberdeen’s North Dee Business Quarter.
Miller Cromdale, a joint-venture between Scottish construction firm Miller Group and Granite City company Cromdale, said the work on Liberty House would start next month.
The building will be the third on the Old Ford Road site and will accommodate tenants seeking between 5,000sq ft and 25,500 sq ft – the average space requirement for three out of every four occupiers in the Aberdeen market.
Miller Cromdale development director Pamela Grant said: “The North Dee Business Quarter is fast establishing itself as the key city centre business location within Aberdeen and we are delighted to be pursuing another opportunity there.”
“Once complete, Liberty House will offer occupiers contemporary office accommodation which has been carefully developed with sustainability at its core, ensuring optimum energy efficiency and low running costs within a modern office environment.”
This latest project from Miller Cromdale follows the firm’s recently completed 40,000sq ft riverside office scheme for French energy company GDF Suez and a deal with the Food Standards Agency for the lease of 12,700sq ft at its £10million Pilgrim House development.
Completion of Pilgrim House, which still has 13,800sq ft available for lease, is expected in September 2014.
Further details on both Liberty House and Pilgrim House can be obtained from joint letting agents Knight Frank and Young and Company.
