A play depicting one of British telly’s biggest ever scandals is coming to Inverness later this year.

Critically-acclaimed comedy Quiz begins its 20-week UK and Ireland tour in August 2020 and is scheduled to visit Eden Court in the Highland capital from November 17 to 21.

It tells the story of Charles Ingram, also known as the Coughing Major, who duped the world’s richest and most popular TV quiz show Who Wants to be a Millionaire? out of £1 million.

Back in September 2001, the nation was gripped by a scandal that remains a mystery. If the major and his accomplices really did cheat, how exactly did they do it?

Following a three-part series on ITV, this former West End hit comedy uncovers new evidence and will ask its audience to decide whether the major’s fate: is he guilty or not guilty?
