The collision took place on the A857 at Galson, near Port of Ness on the Isle of Lewis, shortly before 5.40pm. Three fire appliances – one each from Ness, Shawbost and Stornoway -attended, along with police and ambulance crews. A fire service spokeswoman confirmed that crews used cutting equipment to free one person trapped. They were taken to hospital, but police could not give any update on their injuries.
