A 36-year-old man has been arrested after been after getting stuck in the River Don during a police chase.
The man was being pursued by police on foot, and tried to cross the river in the Inverurie area.
Emergency services were called to Keithhall Road shortly after 8am.
Photos taken in the area showed three police vehicles, two fire engines, and an ambulance lined up along the road.
The incident unfolded after police carried out an arrest warrant on nearby Shunnery Brae.
Once the man was taken back to dry land, he was arrested.
He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment. His condition is unknown.
A police spokesman said: “Around 8am on Saturday, December 10, police attended the Shunnery Brae area of Inverurie to carry out an arrest warrant.
“A foot pursuit took place and the man subsequently had to be rescued after crossing into the river. He was arrested and has been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.”
Two fire crews from Inverurie attended the incident alongside water rescue teams from Central Aberdeen and Elgin following a request for assistance.
A fire spokeswoman said: “We were mobilised to assist police with a water rescue at 8.09am. We mobilised the boat from Central Aberdeen and Elgin and two appliances from Inverurie. The stop message came back at 9.27am this morning.
