Lachlan Simpson, 21, of Embo, was reported missing after failing to return home after the Dornoch Show dance in the early hours of Sunday, July 26. Large-scale searches were carried out around the area, with hundreds of residents joining rescue teams to scour the countryside. But the chef’s body was discovered at Whitehills Harbour, Banff, Aberdeenshire, on Wednesday, September 2. Mr Simpson’s family previously issued a statement thanking all those who helped in the search. The service next Friday will take place at 1pm inside Dornoch Cathedral followed by the burial at Proncynain Cemetery. Donations are invited for the Dornoch Community Fund at the service or to William T Fraser and Son funeral directors, of Inverness. All are welcome to attend.
