A Lossiemouth woman was left bloodied and bruised after she was attacked by two seagulls.
Caroline Sutherland’s ordeal reminded her of Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds.
The 64-year-old was attacked outside Lossiemouth Co-op on Couldardbank Road.
It happened as she was collecting her daily messages from the shop.
The attack left her injured and badly shaken.
Over the years, the seagull problem has increased across Moray.
Daughter Donna Stuart said: “Outside the Co-op, two seagulls started attacking her and as she tried to run away, she tripped over and got a black eye and scratched all her glasses.
“She was scared for the next few days to go out.
“She’s out every day to go to get milk, and this was the first time she has been attacked by a gull.
“She feels really scared to go out.
“She said it reminded her of a scene from the movie The Birds.
“Thankfully, her injuries are healing up now.”
Lossiemouth seagull situation
Other problems include annoying noise, birds swooping on people and mess everywhere.
She added: “They have become more aggressive than ever.
“People are really worried about the problem.
“Some places in Lossiemouth are no go zones due to the chance of being attacked by gulls.”
Seagulls are a ‘major problem’
Like many, she is growing tired of the problem.
She said: “More needs to be done, it is a major problem in Lossiemouth.
“The problem is getting worse here.
“It is hard to think the way to go to tackle the problem.
“I keep hearing lots of stories about people being attacked and even some people aren’t able to go outside their homes without being swooped by gulls.
